Adventure Bound 2024
It’s our favorite time of year… when Outdoor Clubs from all across the state come together for a weekend of camping and white water rafting.
Adventure Bound Rafting & Campout is a great way for high schools to celebrate the end of the school year!
Outdoor Clubs are invited to camp out at Adventure Bound in Caratunk for 1 or 2 nights and spend the weekend exploring the area around The Forks, where the Dead and Kennebec Rivers meet. On Saturday, clubs can choose from various activities such as high ropes elements, indoor rock climbing, hiking, canoe and stand-up paddle boarding, or a swim in the crisp water at Moxie Falls. In the evening, cook delicious meals over your camp stoves, play fun games, swim in the pool, or cozy up to the campfire and participate in our annual s’more competition. We finish up the weekend with a full-day whitewater rafting adventure on the Kennebec River, followed by a chicken barbecue.

Packing List
There is a lot to consider when packing for a weekend of camping and white water rafting while at Adventure Bound.
We have created these two suggestive packing lists to assist both Students and Advisors in the process.
Remember: Each of these categories includes layers for temperature modulation. It is good to have some extra layers to change into at night while your daytime clothes dry.
If you know you get cold easily consider bringing extra layers. Vests are great for adding a little extra warmth

-
There will be one large communal fireplace where we will be hosting a fire each night. There are also two other fire rings available on a first come, first serve basis.
-
There is a central area available for groups to use, however there are limited picnic tables under it. We recommended bringing a folding table and camp chairs for your group to cook on and eat at.
There will be running, drinkable water for your club to use for drinking, cooking and doing dishes. Please bring buckets and soap to create a “dish pit”.
