Teens to Trails is excited to offer an exclusive Middle School-only overnight program with Maine Huts & Trails in May 2026!
Located on the eastern shore of Flagstaff Lake just two miles from the trailhead, this off-grid eco lodge includes hot showers, electricity and a commercial kitchen. Clubs are invited to use the 6 canoes, 6 kayaks, and 1 stand up paddle board located on site. It’s the perfect introductory hut for overnight trips and a fun school-year sendoff!
The weekend will include group activities, a service project, opportunities to connect with other students, and plenty of free time to play, paddle, hike, and explore.
When: May 22 - 24
Where: Flagstaff Lake Hut, Lexington. The trailhead is located 22 miles down Long Falls Dam road from Route 16 in New Portland. It offers a privy and ample parking. View on Google Maps. Outdoor Clubs will meet at the trailhead and hike 2 miles in to the lakeside hut. A gear shuttle is provided by Maine Huts & Trails.
Cost: $250 per school (this amount is greatly reduced, thanks to the generosity of Maine Huts & Trails)
Based on the hut’s capacity for 48 guests, this program is limited to 4 schools with a maximum of 10 students/staff each. Teens to Trails suggests a ration of 4 students to 1 advisor.
This program is for grades 6 through 8.
