We connect Maine students
to life-changing outdoor experiences

Supporting outdoor access for Maine teens

Connecting Maine students to the outdoors is what we do. Helping middle and high schools start and operate a thriving outdoor club is how we do it.

Teens to Trails offers several hands on programs each year, including the Outdoor Leadership Conference, which helps builds the skills needed for students and faculty to comfortably lead outdoor excursions; the October Rendezvous, getting students to Maine’s most iconic outdoor destinations; and AdventureBound, a spring weekend of games, challenges and white water rafting.

Student-led and faculty-facilitated, school outdoor clubs are inclusive, regardless of ability or experience. Club activities foster a love of our natural spaces in Maine, while building friendships, skills, trust and a very important sense of belonging. What you learn in Outdoor Club can even lead to a career!

But don’t just take our word for it. Listen to some of our students share what being a part of the Teens to Trails community is all about:

“My Outdoor Club experience this year has opened my eyes to all that Maine has to offer and encouraged me to take my new found passion and introduce it to my family. I honestly don’t think that I would have had the confidence or knowledge to do it without the skills I’ve learned from my advisor and classmates. Outdoor Club has changed my whole high school experience.”
