Our Grants-to-Clubs Program exists to help middle and high schools start new Outdoor Clubs and assist established clubs in strengthening their programs and improving their sustainability. Thanks to L.L.Bean, we are awarding $15,000 in grants up to $600 per school.

Uses for these grants include:

  • Transportation for outdoor trips

  • Safety and skills training

  • Participation in Teens to Trails programs

  • Professional guide fees

  • Park entrance fees

We understand that funding is a large obstacle for outdoor clubs. We hope that this program provides an opportunity for outdoor clubs to have conversations with their school administrators and boards about allocating a portion of the school’s activity fees and transportation budget for outdoor experiences. Please be in touch if there are other cost areas that will ensure Outdoor Club activities are available to ALL students, especially those with financial needs.

Please look over the application guidelines thoroughly. We encourage student participation in your application. Our application guidelines share our evaluation process and funding priorities. This information will help you prepare for your application.

Policy on unspent funds
If, for any reason, grant funds remain unspent at the time the Final Report is due; use the Final Report to explain what is happening and how you plan to spend the funds. If your club is no longer active; please contact samantha@teenstotrails.org, and we can discuss ways for the funds you received to continue supporting outdoor experiences for students.
